BATES FALL DANCE CONCERT, SCHAEFFER THEATRE
Saturday, December 2nd at 5:00pm Sunday, December 3rd at 2:00pm Monday, December 4th at 7:30pm
This concert is primarily comprised of student compositions made in the Advanced Composition Seminar. Additionally, work of Dance Majors’ Thesis and Independent Studies are showcased in a fully supported production on Schaeffer stage. Student choreographers cast their pieces in the beginning of the Fall Term and conduct a semester long rehearsal process, complete with showings, feedback and collaboration with designers, all leading up to the performance. A tremendous amount of effort is poured into these works of art from student artists all across campus. Learn more.

Arkansas born and raised, and a resident of New York City for more than four decades, Patricia Spears Jones is a poet, educator, cultural activist, and anthologist. She is the author of five poetry collections, including The Beloved Community (Copper Canyon Press 2023) and A Lucent Fire: New & Selected Poems (White Pine Press 2015), and five chapbooks.
